King Kamehameha IV
Born: February 9, 1834
Died: November 30, 1863
Ruled: December 15, 1854 - November 30, 1863
Name: Alexander Liholiho
Wife: Queen Emma

Alexander Liholiho became King Kamehameha IV after his brother King Kamehameha III died in December of 1854.

He developed diplomatic and trade relations with other countries to prevent the annexation of Hawaii by the United States. He also tried to reduce the influence of the Christian missionaries.

Plantation workers started coming to Hawaii in large numbers.

His wife was Queen Emma.

His Tiny son Prince Albert died August 17, 1862

He died a year later, and while some say he was poisoned, others say he died of asthma and a broken heart.
