About Kalaeloa Airport on Oahu (JRF)

General information and facts about the Kona International Airport (KOA), on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii, near the town of Kailua-Kona.

The air field at Barber's Point Navail Air Station was named the Kalaeloa Airport after the Barber's Point Naval facility was closed by the United Staets government. Now the air field is a general aviation facilitythat uses approximately 750 acres of the former naval facility. The control tower and three of the runways at this airport are operated by the State of Hawai.
