Cruise Ship Ports of Call Laws

Proposed Amendment to Ports of Call Law
the United States Maritime Administrator wants to have a law enacted that requires non-U.S. flag carrier ships transportating passengers between U.S. ports to stop in a non-U.S. port for at least 24 hours instead of the token stops in Vancouver Canada or Ensenada Mexico many cruise ships were including on their West Coast USA to Hawaii itineraries. Some of those stops were as short as one hour and passengers were not given an opportunity to go ashore.
