Curried Steak
This stir-fry curried steak dish is flavored
with onions, curry, ginger, jalapeno pepper,
and coconut milk.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 jalapeno pepper
2 green onions, chopped
2 round onions, chopped
2 pounds of sirloin steak, cut into strips
1 tablespoon of curry powder
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 cups of coconut milk
Instructions for Making Curried Steak
Cook the garlic, jalapeno pepper, and the two
kinds of onions in the vegetable oil for about two minutes.
Add the curry powder and ginger and cook a minute or two,
to get rid of the raw taste of the curry powder.
Add the beef strips and cook until they are beginning to brown.
Add the coconut milk, reduce heat, and cook ten or fifteen
minutes, or until meat is tender. Some cooks like to
reserve the green onion, and sprinkle it raw over the
curried steak, along with other traditional curry condiments
such as coconut, peanuts, and chutney.
