1/2 cup candied orange and lemon peel
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Other Ingredients
1 cup + 1 tablespoon of flour
2 cups of butter
1 cup of soft brown sugar
1/4 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of molasses
Grated rind of 1 orange
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of ginger
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon of mace
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
5 eggs
1/2 cup of sherry or brandy
Peach or apricot wine for soaking cake
10 inch round, 4 inch deep baking pan
