Hawaiian Cake Recipes

Recipes for favorite cakes in Hawaii and cakes made with Hawaiian ingredients such as pineapple, coconut, guava, and macadamia nuts.

Rum Butter Pineapple Upside Down Cake
This delicious recipe for pineapple upside down cake was created by Amanda Allison, and it won the grand prize in the baking contest at the 2006 Wahiawa Pineapple Festival on Oahu. The cake has the traditional topping made with pineapple, cherries, brown sugar, and butter, but this recipe adds two special ingredients to the topping: rum and macadamia nuts.

Classic Pineapple Upside Down Cake
Pineapple upside down cake got its name because the cake is cooked with pineapple on the bottom, but when it is served, the cake is turned upside down, so the pineapple is on the top.

Coconut Banana Coffee Cake
Ingredients in this coffee cake include Bisquick, coconut milk, cream cheese, sliced bananas, and toasted coconut.

Guava Chiffon Cake
A Hawaiian style guava chiffon cake is a guava flavored cake made fluffy and light by adding beaten egg whites, topped with guava flavored frosting, and drizzled with a deep-colored guava glaze.

Guava Spice Cake
This spiced, guava flavored Hawaiian cake is made with fresh guava pulp and and guava nectar, and it is spiced with nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon.

Haupia Cake
This version of haupia Hawaiian cake is a white cake that has haupia coconut pudding between the layers, is frosted with a gelatin whipped cream frosting, and is topped with coconut.
