Spicy Ginger Shrimp Cocktail Recipe

A recipe for Spicy Ginger Shrimp Cocktail. See also more Recipes from Hawaii, about Hawaii Dining and our Hawaii Travel Guide.

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
- Juice from 2 limes
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 pounds large cooked shrimp
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

De-vein and eel the shrimp, but leave the tails on. Mix together the oil, ginger, lime juice, garlic, soy sauce, sugar and red pepper. Stir in shrimp and cilantro. Cover and refrigerate 1 to 4 hours before serving. Stir occasionally while chilling. Serves 4.
