Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) Cookbooks

The cookbooks published by the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) aree a benefit project to raise funds to support the Aloha United Way. The cookbooks feature recipes contributed by Hawaiian Electric Company employees, retirees, family and friends and they usually cost between $10 and $12 USD when they are first released.

In 1991 HECO published a cookbook called "100 Years of Island Cooking" and between 2005 and 2008 they published volumes 1 through 4 of "A Taste to Remember". The cookbook was renamed "A Taste of HECO" in 2009.

2009 HECO Cookbook The 2009 HECO cookbook is called "A Taste of HECO: Pupu and Desserts" and it features favorite recipes of the employees, retirees, family, and friends of the Hawaiian Electric Company. The recipes are presented on a pop-up stand that makes them easy to see while cooking. Proceeds from book sales benefit the Aloha United Way.

A Taste to Remember, Volume 4 (PDF)
2008 HECO Cookbook The 2008 cookbook published by the Hawaiian Electric Company is called "A Taste to Remember, Volume 4: Flavors of Aloha from Hawaiian Electric Company". It features 150 recipes provided by HECO employees, families, and friends and energy saving tips for your refrigerator and freezer. Proceeds from book sales benefit the Aloha United Way.

How to Order the HECO Cookbooks

The cookbooks published by the Hawaiian Electric Company cost $10-$12 each and they can be mail ordered or purchased at one of the HECO Customer Services Offices in Honolulu.

The HECO cookbooks can be purchased and picked up at one of the two HECO Customer Services Offices in Honolulu:
- 900 Richards Street (near Downtown Post Office)
- 820 Ward Avenue (near Blaisdell Box Office)
