Waikiki Hotels on the Beach

There are more then eighty hotels in the Waikiki area of Honolulu on the island of Oahu in Hawaii but only few of them sit directly on the beach.

Fort DeRussy Park and Ala Wai Harbor Area

There are three Waikiki hotels between the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor and Fort DeRussy Park that are either on a beach or adjacent to a beach. Two of the widest beaches in Waikiki are located in this area. Duke Kahanamoku Beach is in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort and Fort DeRussy Beach Park is in front of the Hale Koa Hotel. The other beach in this area is the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Beach, which sits between the Ilikai Hotel and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort. From west to east, the hotels in this area are:

Ilikai Hotel and Suites
The Ilikai hotel does not face a beach, it faces the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, but is adjacent to the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon Beach and a very short walk from the oceanfront Duke Kahanamoku Beach.

Hilton Hawaiian Village
The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort has nearly 3000 rooms in five towers, making it the largest hotel in Hawaii. It is located directly on Duke Kahanamoku Beach and adjacent to Fort DeRussy Beach Park, the two widest beaches in Waikiki.

Hale Koa Hotel
The Hale Koa Hotel is a military-only hotel located directly on the beach inside Fort DeRussy Beach Park.

Waikiki Beach Walk Area Beachfront Hotels

The beachfront hotels in this section sit on a narrow section of Waikiki Beach but all of them are only a short walk from the much wider Fort DeRussy Beach Park and Duke Kahanamoku Beach. From east to west, the hotels in this area are:

Waikiki Shore Condominiums
The Waikiki Shore is the only condominium hotel located directly on Waikiki Beach, A few of its rooms face the ocean, but most of them have views of the ocean and West Oahu over Fort DeRussy Park. The beach directly in front of the hotel is narrow, but the much wider Fort DeRussy Beach Park is right next door.

Outrigger Reef on the Beach Hotel
Large spa resort located directly on a narrow section of Waikiki Beach, between the Halekulani Hotel and the Waikiki Shore Condominiums. and Duke Kahanamoku Beach.

Halekulani Hotel
Elegant luxury hotel situated directly on a narrow section of Waikiki Beach.

Central Waikiki Beachfront Hotels

The beachfront hotels closest to Central Waikiki are located on a narrow section of Waikiki beach. These hotels are not far from the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, the International Marketplace, and the excellent swimming beaches inside Prince Kuhio Beach Park. The hotels in this area, from east to west are:

Diamond Head Area Beachfront Hotels

New Otani Kaimana
The New Otani Kaimana is a small boutique hotel located directly on San Souci Beach and across the street from Queen Kapiolani Park.

Diamond Head Beach Hotel
There is no beach in front of this small condominium hotel but it does sit directly on the waterfront and it has a small waterfront grassy area where visitors can sit in the sun. A narrow seawalk leads to San Souci Beach in one direction and the small beach in front of the ? condominiums in the other direction.
