Edmunds Apartment Hotel
2411 Ala Wai Boulevard
Waikiki, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii
(in July of 2006 this four story walk-up was was in escrow at a list price of $1.5 million)
Studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments
with lanais and kitchens or kitchenettes.
Rooms are situated around a courtyard swimming pool.
The hotel has 104 rooms in a ten story building with an
elevator. Located on Lewers Street. Operated by Castle
Resorts. The Hokele Restaurant and Bar is located
on the premises and it serves three meals a day and
the bar is open from 4 pm to 2 am. The Castle Hokele
Suites Hotel was the Marc Waikiki Suites before Castle
acquired it in the summer of 2006. Castle spent more
then $4 million renovating the property, so I'm not sure
this is still a budget priced hotel. It
opened as a Castle Hotel on October 1, 2006.

Royal Grove Hotel
This popular budget hotel in the center of Waikiki
has very basic rooms and apartments beginning
at about $50 or $60 per night.
The rooms at the Royal Grove are situated around
a courtyard swimming pool. The lobby is decorated with
Hawaiiana, Asian artifacts, curio cabinets, and
comfortable chairs and sofas. The lounge area is a
friendly gathering spot with a piano, a large table,
board games, and a computer connected to the Internet.
The rooms at the Royal Grove are simple but the hotel
is very close to the beach, there are several inexpensive
restaurants on the first floor of the building, and many
of the units have air conditioning and kitchenettes.
