Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii

The Lotus at Diamond Head is a 51 room, boutique hotel on the quiet and peaceful Diamond Head end of Waikiki. It is directly across the street from 108 acre Queen Kapiolani Park only a short walk from San Souci Beach and Queen Kapiolani Beach Park. Diamond Head Grill Restaurant and Bar
The fine dining restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Lotus at Diamond Head Restaurant is called the Diamond Head Grill because it has huge picture windows with beautiful views of Kapiolani Park and Diamond Head Crater. The restaurant has a bar, and it serves dinner, but it may or may not served breakfast lunch and brunch (this has changed from time to time, so call to confirm). Ask also if the restaurant and bar currently have a dress code in the evening or at other times.

Rooms at the Lotus at Diamond Head
All of the rooms in the Lotus at Diamond Head Hotel are 455 square feet in size except the two bedroom penthouse apartment, which is 2540 square feet. The "Diamond Head View" rooms are on the lower floors of the hotel and the "Ocean View" rooms are on the hotel's higher floors. Some of the ocean view rooms only have a glimpse of the ocean, but the hotel's Diamond Head Crater views can be fabulous, especially from the rooms on the hotel's upper floors. Note that the rooms on the 3rd floor are level with the roof of the parking structure.

Location of the Lotus at Diamond Head Hotel

It sits directly on Kalakaua Avenue, behind the oceanfront Colony Surf residential condominium building. The hotel is does not have an oceanfront location, but several sandy beaches are only a short walk away.

Things You Need to Know
The Lotus at Diamond Head Hotel is not a beachfront hotel, and it does not have a swimming pool, but it is only a short walk away from a sandy swimming beach. The Lotus is not the best choice if an ocean view room is important to you, because it is separated from the ocean by other buildings. Some of its ocean view rooms only offer a glimpse of the sea. Many of its rooms, however, do have have fabulous views of Diamond Head Crater and Kapiolani Park. There are few restaurants in this area, and the handful that do exist are expensive, and often only open for dinner. It takes most people about 15 or 20 minutes to walk from the Lotus at Diamond Head Hotel to the center of Waikiki, where there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment choices, in all price categories. The walk between the hotel and Waikiki is a lovely stroll through beautiful Kapiolani Beach Park during the day, but at night the park can be dark and isolated. If you are alone, you may feel safer taking a taxi at night. On some nights, the hotel's Diamond Head Grill Restaurant has live jazz nights or DJ hosted disco parties. If those activities do not appeal to you, ask the hotel's management if the bar's music and party noise can be heard in its hotel rooms.
