Was originally scheduled to open in September of 2007
about 70 rooms
The former Mauka Tower of the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach
Hotel was bought by the Napili Partners investment group,
who awarded the hotel management contract to Aqua Hotels
and Resorts. The hotel is in the process of being upgraded
and in the interim is it known as the Aqua Ocean Tower Hotel.
After the renovations are complete it will be renamed
the Aqua Renew and it will become the highest end hotel
in the Aqua Resorts chain.
Rooms will have remote control lights and dimmers, rooms
with king size beds will have 32 inch high definition LCD
televisions and rooms with two double beds will have
projection televions that display 4 feet by 6 feet on the wall.
The hotels' oceanfront rooms will have unobstructed views
of the ocean that are bordered on each side
by the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel and the Waikiki Beach
Marriott Hotel.
The hotel was last renovated in the 1980's. The current
renovation will include remodeling the lobby and guest rooms,
adding two new suites, and painting the building exterior.
The renovations are being done three floors at a time,
from the bottom to top of the hotel
