Waikiki Hotels on Ala Wai Boulevard
Oahu Island, Hawaii

Information about Waikiki hotels near the Ala Wai Canal, either directly on Ala Wai Boulevard or on Waikiki side streets near the canal. The hotels in this area typically have some of the lowest prices in Waikiki and runners and walkers will like their close proximity to the Ala Wai Promenade that runs along the Ala Wai Canal. Note that the rooms in these hotels that are closest to Ala Wai Boulevard will typically have the most street noise, but some of those rooms also have the best views of Honolulu's mountains and valleys.

The hotel formerly known as the Coconut Plaza Hotel, and faces Ala Wai Boulevard on one side, but its entrance and official address is on Lewers Street. At one time, the main entrance to the hotel was on Ala Wai Boulevard but that was changed during one of its renovations.

This hotel at the corner of Niu Street and Ala Wai Boulevard has 225 rooms on 44 floors. It was built in 1979, renovated in 1996. It has two Japanese restaurants on the property, and it has a swimming pool and a sun deck on the sixth floor.

One of Waikiki's most basic but least expensive budget hotels is the Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel at 2375 Ala Wai Boulevard. For reservations or more information call 808-922-4744.

Edmunds Apartment Hotel
Edmunds Hotel Apartments on Ala Wai Boulevard is a very basic hotel in a four story, walk-up, apartment building, with some of the lowest hotel rates in Waikiki. I believe the original Edmunds Apartment Hotel run by Amy Lau was on Liliuokalani, but that place was torn down, and today Edmund Apartment Hotel is at 2411 Ala Wai Boulevard.
