Saturday Oahu Events

A guide to events that happen every Saturday on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Note that events that occur at least five days a week are included in the Daily Oahu Events section.

Art at the Zoo
Every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm local artists display their work on the fence surrounding the Honolulu Zoo on Monsarrat Avenue across from the Kapiolani Park Bandstand.

Hawaii Geographic Society Walking Tours
Every Saturday and Sunday, the Hawaii Geographic society offers a "Petroglyphs, Waterfalls, and Rainforest" walking tour in the Nuuanu Valley that includes Kapena Falls and other sites. Tour price is $15. For reservations or more information call 808-538-3952.

Honolulu Street Market
Every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm there is farmer's market in City Square in the Kalihi area of Honolulu, just outside of downtown.

Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens Tour
Every Saturday at 10:00 am the Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens offers a free tropical plant walk to the public. Bring walking shoes, insect repellant, and rain gear. For reservations call 808-233-7323.

James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge Tours
During four months of each year, public tours of the James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge north shore wildlife refuge near Kahuku are offered every Thursday and Saturday. The tours begin the third Saturday in October and continue through the third Saturday in February

Lyon Aboretum Tours
Every Tuesday morning and Saturday afternoon the Lyon Aboretum at the University of Hawaii in Manoa Valley offers public tours. Reservations are required.

Sunset on the Beach Movies
Many Friday and Saturday nights there are free outdoor movies on Waikiki beach that also include a concert and food booths.

Waikiki Walking Tour
Every Saturday there is a free two-hour walking tour of Waikiki conducted by Hawaiian storyteller Woody Fern. The tour is from 9:00 to 11:00 am and the meeting place is the Hoaloha canoe at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach Hotel. For more information call 808-924-6007.

Zoo Twilight Tours
Every Saturday night the Honolulu Zoo in Waikiki offers twilight tours from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Purchase tickets in advance at the zoo box office. Families are welcome but children should be age 4 or older. For more information call 808-926-3191.
