The 30th Annual Prince Lot Hula Festival took place on July 21, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Moanalua Gardens in Honolulu. 2007 was the 30th anniversary of the festival. 10 hula groups performed both ancient and modern hula all day long on the garden's hula mound. The Prince Lot Hula Ffestival is promoted as the largest non-competitive hula festival in Hawaii. IN addition to live hula performances it features demonstrations of Hawaiian crafts, Hawaiian food, live entertainment, a marketplace featuring products made in Hawaii, and cultural workshops during the week before the event. In 2006 the Moanalua Gardens Foundation received a $10,000 "Access to Artistic Excellence" grant from the U.S National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support the 30th anniversary of the Prince Lot Hula Festival because "the festival showcases the richness and beauty of Hawaii's host culture".
