ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE WESTIN MOANA SURFRIDER RESORT

The elegant "First Lady of Waikiki" is transforming itself into a one night Halloween spooktacular that will be like no other. The familiar disposition of the Banyan Courtyard at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa will blend together tricks and treats including $1,000 cash prize for best costume, two night stay and dinner for two at Beachhouse at the Moana for second place and a couples massage at the Moana Lani Spa for third! Registrations for the contest will be taken until 10 p.m. WHAT: Halloween Spooktacular WHERE: Banyan Courtyard at Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa WHEN: 6:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. DOOR: Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. TICKETS: In advance $25 per person Kama’aina, $35 per person general or $50 at the door. Includes food and entertainment. Advanced tickets may be purchased at Moana Surfrider at the Beach Bar, or by calling 808-923-2817 until evening of October 30. CONTEST: Registration for the costume contest must be taken by 10:00 p.m. Finalists will be judged by audience at 12:00 midnight. Pupu Buffet-6:30 - 10:00 p.m Start your evening off with a buffet befit for a pirate consisting of assorted sushi platter with a shoyu mustard sauce, Thai summer rolls with a peanut dipping sauce, vegetable crudités with a garlic herb dip, assorted dim sum with soy mustard, volcano spiced chicken drumettes with pineapple fried rice, vegetable spring rolls with a sweet chili sauce and furikake calamari strips with a sweet and sour firecracker glaze. Sliced tropical fruit will be available as well as an assortment of mini French pastries. Live Entertainment-7:00 - 11:00 p.m Kaleo Pilanca, local entertainer and radio personality from 102.7 the BOMB will be the emcee for the evening and will introduce local reggae band Conscious Roots as they take the stage to get the party started. This group consisting of Jazzton Lyons, Tyler Teixeira, and fraternal twin brothers Damon and Daniel Cottrell are amazingly talented and gifted musicians. During band breaks and playing all the way until 1:00 a.m will be D.J. HI-Lo to finish out the event. Meet and Greet SUPERCR3W and Supreme Soul-8:00 - 10:00 p.m. K.C. and Taka from POWER 104.3 will be doing a live remote radio broadcast and will be promoting the meet and greet with SUPERCR3W and Supreme Soul from top television show, America’s Best Dance Crew, will also be joining the party for an exclusive meet and greet. The winner of America’s Best Dance Crew season 2, Super Cr3w has showed off their skills at events around the world, winning countless awards together as a team and individually and now, the Moana Surfrider is bringing them to you for exclusive meet and greet and photo opportunity before their performance at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center. More Spooktacular Happenings-6:00 p.m to 12:00 midnight From 6:00 - 8:00 pm, take a “haunted” tour of the Moana Surfrider and learn some truly spooky tales. From 6:00 - 12:00 midnight roaming the courtyard will be Psychics, Tarot Card Readers, Face Painters and Palm Readers.
