Live from the Lawn:
Hawaiian Grammy Nominees in Concert

On January 6, 2005 the five nominees for the Hawaiian Music Grammy will perform at a free concert on the lawn on the Hawaii State Art Museum in Honolulu.

TIME: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
WHERE: Hawaii State Art Museum
LOCATION: Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii

The first event in a new series of free outdoor concerts at the Hawaii State Art Museum will feature six artists nominated for the 2006 Hawaiian Music Grammy Award. The performers will be:


    - George Kahumoku, Jr. and Cyril Pahinui
    (Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Vol 1)


    - Ledward Kaapana
    (Kiloalu: Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar)


    - Sonny Lim
    (Slack Key Guitar: Artistry of Sonny Lim)


    - Raiatea Helm
    (Sweet and Lovely)


    - Kapono Beamer
    (Slack Key Dreams of the Ponomoe)
Bring lawn chairs, beach mats, picnic food. No alcohol. Free coffee and pastries will be provided by Starbucks Hawaii and plate lunches will be available for purchase.

For those who cannot be there, the concert will be simulcast from Oceanic and KITV plus there will be a Web stream sponsored by DBEDT so people outside of Honolulu can see performances by the artists nominated for the Hawaiian grammy award. Beging produced by event promoter Tim Bostock.

This new concert series is part of Honolulu's "First Friday Galleries Walks" event that takes place in Downtown Honolulu and Chinatown the first friday evening of every month.
