Hula Festivals and Hula Contests Oahu, Hawaii

A guide to hula festivals, hula competitions, and hula performances on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

Prince Lot Hula Festival
An annual hula festival held every July at the Moanalua Gardens, just below Tripler Medical Center in Honolulu. The 2009 Prince Lot Hula Festival will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2009.

King Kamehameha Hula Competition
The 36th Annual King Kamehameha Hula Competition will take place June 26-27, 2009 at the Blaisdell Center Arena in Honolulu.

Queen Liliuokalani Keiki Hula Competition
Annual Hula competition for children age 5 through 12. More then 500 children representing 22 halau The competition is usually toward the end of July or beginning of August at the Neal Blaisdell Arena. The 34th annual Queen Liliuokalani Keiki Hula Competition will take place July 16-18, 2009.

International Waikiki Hula Conference
The 2009 World International Hula Conference will take place July 26-31, 2009. at the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus in Honolulu. The event will feature full days of hula and Hawaiian culture activities .

World Invitational Hula Festival
This event is also known as "E Ho I Mai Ika Piko Hula" and it is a three day event held every November at the Waikiki Shell in Kapiolani Park. Hula halau come from all over the world to complete at this event. The 17th Annual event took place November 6-8, 2008 at the Waikiki Shell Amphitheater in Waikiki's Kapiolani Park.
