Friday Oahu Events
A guide to events that happen every Friday on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
Note that events that occur at least five days a week
are included in the
Daily Oahu Events section.
Aloha Friday
Every Friday in Hawaii, many residents wear Hawaiian
shirts, muu muus, or other Hawaiian style clothing to work,
but usually with Hawaiian prints that are more subtle and
sophisticated the more casual Hawaiian print clothing.
On Oahu's Aloha Friday there are noon concerts on the
grounds of the Iolani Palace and in Downtown Honolulu's
Bishop Square, and the other islands often have similar
activities.
Chinatown Historic Walking Tour
Every Wednesday and Friday the Hawaii Heritage
Center offers a Chinatown Historic and Cultural
Walking tour from 9:30 to 11:30 am. The tour
meets at 1040 Smith Street and the cost is $10.

Fireworks on Waikiki Beach
Every Friday night the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel
has a fireworks sow on the beach and Hawaiian and
Polynesian music and dance. For more information

King's Jubilee
Every Friday evening at 7:00 pm there is an
event called the King's Jubilee at the Hilton
Hawaiian Village Resort that includes a flag
ceremony, precision rifle drill, and music.
It proceeds the resort's weekly fireworks display.

Royal Hawaiian Band Concert
The Royal Hawaiian Band gives a free concert
almost every Friday at noon in the bandstand
and pavilion at the Iolani Palace in the historic
capitol district of downtown Honolulu.
Sunset on the Beach Movies
Many Friday and Saturday nights there are
free outdoor movies on Waikiki beach that
also include a concert and food booths.
