Information about Chinese New Year events, activities, and celebrations on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Includes a Narcissus Festival procession through Chinatown, a two-day Chinatown open house, a parade through the center of Chinatown, and a festival with food booths, craft booths, and live entertainment.

Hawaii Narcissus Festival (February 16, 2007)
The 58th annual Narcissus Festival will take place in Honolulu's Chinatown on Friday, February 16, 2007 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Narcissus Queen, her court, and lion dancers will walk in a procession through Chinatown, visiting local shop owners, who will light firecrackers and offer good luck money envelopes to the lions. The procession will end at a Chinatown Cultural Plaza festival with food booths, craft booths, and live entertainment.

The 2007 Honolulu "Night in Chinatown" festival and Chinese New Year Parade will take place in Honolulu's Chinatown on Saturday, February 17, 2007. I believe the parade will begin at 4:00 pm but you should contact the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii to confirm. The route will begin at Richards Street, run down Hotel Street, and end at River Street. At Maunakea Street and Hotel Street there will be live entertainment and booths featuring Asian food and traditional Chinese New Year arts and crafts.

There will be an open house at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza in Chinatown Honolulu on February 16-17, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The event will feature food vendors offering traditional Chinese foods and live entertainment featuring ethnic dance troupes, local musicians, and martial arts and weapons desonstrations.
