The historic Waioli Chapel is surrounded by gardens and it is located in a tropical
rainforest in Honolulu's Manoa Valley. The chapel was built in 1939 and it is
famous for its lava rock walls and stain glass
windows. The windows were created by a local
artist and added to the chapel in the 1950's. They
depict bible stories featuring Hawaii's local animals,
the local style of dress, and humans and angels of many different races.
The Waioli Chapel and the adjacent Waioli Tea Room
are popular venues for wedding ceremonies and receiptions..
