Shark's Cove is located on the northwest shore of Oahu, on Kamehameha Highway between Haleiwa and Pupukea. The cove is lined with natural lava rock, and there are deep underwater caves, lava tubes, and ledges to explore on the right side of the cove. There is no beach in the cove, but there is a nice one very nearby, at Pupukea Beach Park, fronting the Three Tables Reef. Scuba divers can go down 60 feet here, but it is an easy dive during the summer when the surf is calm. Snorkers enjoy the adjacent tidepools when the tide is high. WARNING: Rough surf in this area from October through April make it dangerous for diving during the winter months.

Shark's cove is one of the best places on the island of Oahu for snorkeling, and the best snorkeling months are May through September, when the water is most calm and clear. If you are renting a home or a room from Shark's Cove Rentals they will provide snorkeling gear free. If not, you can rent gear from them. For more information about snorkeling at Shark's Cove see Snorkeling Shark's Cove on the Snorkeling Hawaii Insider's Guide Web site.
