The Mural in the Theater Lobby
The mural entitled "The Relation of Man and Nature in Old Hawaii" - partially pictured above - was painted by artist Jean Charlot on the lobby walls of the Leeward Community College Theatre. The mural is approximately 100 feet by 25 feet in size and it was commissioned by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts for the LCC Theatre's grand opening in 1974. In 2007 the mural was restored by painting restoration specialist Viviana Dominguez.
