Information about the Hawaii Maritime Center Museum in Honolulu Harbor on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

Exhibits of Hawaii's seafaring history. Also includes the skeleton of a humpback whale, an 1800 pound Pacific Blue Marlin, a replica of the type of Polynesian canoe used by the the original Hawaiians called the Hokulea, and a four mast ship called the Falls of Clyde. On Ala Moana Boulevard (is it Nimitz Road here?) at Pier 7. (is Pier 7 before or after the Aloha Tower Marketplace?)

Museum Opened in 1988

Hawaii's maritime history from the time of the first Polynesian navigators 1500 years ago to Hawaii's first contact with western culture, to whaling, to day.

Exhibits include
-a replica of a Polynesian voyaging canoe called "Hokulea"
-a fully masted clipper ship called the "Falls of Clyde",
-Humpback whale skeleton mounted on the ceiling
-1805 pound blue marlin hangs over entrance (caught in 1970)
-History of surfing, windsurfing, and canoe racing
-Whaling Days
-History of Honolulu Harbor
-Cruise ship days
-The Clipper Seaplane
-Navigatoin exhibit
-rare maritime artifacts
-videos

The museum is housed in the Kalakaua Boat Hosue.

Open 8:30 am to 5:00 pm daily. Closed Christmas day. Admissions is under $10.00.
