The Beaches of Oahu's North shore

Kaunala Beach The north shore of Oahu includes the area from Kahuku Point to Kaena Point and it is a world class surfing destination. Many international surfing competitions are held on Oahu's north shore, including the Van's Triple Crown of Surfing. That event typically takes place in November and December and it includes three men's events and three women's events. If you want to see the north shore's famous big waves you will need to visit during the winter. During the summer months the surf is more gentle and more suitable for recreational swimming.
