Royal Hawaiian Ocean Racing Club (no Web site)
Founded in 1985 to promote and assist with producing the Kenwood Clup Hawaii International Ocean Racing series, a biennial Central Pacific racing series held between 1986 and 2000 when Japan's Kenwood Corporation was no longer able to sponsor the series. In 2004 members of the Waikiki Yacht Club founded a series similar to the Kenwood Cup called the Waikiki Offshore Racing Series. QUESTION: Does the Royal Hawaiian Ocean Racing Club still exist as an organization?

Other Oahu Yacht Clubs

The Kaheohe Yacht club was founded in 1924. At that time the club facilities were located on the west side of Kaneohe Bay. TTheir current clubhouse on the east side of the bay was built in 1955.

This Kanehe based yacht club founded in 1978 is associated with the Makani Kai Marina residenial community. The community includes 78 condominiums, each with their own boat slip.

Peark Harbor Yacht Club
The Pearl Harbor Yacht club was founded in 1924 and some time after that the members purchased the home of Albert Fayerweather Afong to use as their clubhouse. The club's activities came to a halt on December 7, 1941 when pearl harbor was attacked by the Japanese. In 1944 some of the former members of the Pearl Harbor Yacht Club founded the Waikiki Yacht Club that is now based at the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor. Today members of the Pearl Harbor Yacht club meet at the Rainbow Bay Marina the first Thursday of each month for a sunset sail followed by cocktails and a membership meeting. She was expecting to eventually sell the restaurant for about $3 million.

Free Spirit Sailing Club
The owner of the "Free Spirit" 48 foot trimaran in the Kewalo Basin operates a sailing clubs for local Hawaii residents and their guests. At one point the "Free Spirit" was up for sale with a price somewhere between $250,000 and $500,000, so I'm not sure if this club is still operating.
