Historic Home Tours on Oahu

Tours of Doris Duke's Islamic art filled Shangra-La mansion on the Kahala Coast and Queen Liliuokalani's Washington Place family home, and the historically furnished cottages of Hawaii's plantation workers.

Shangri-La Mansion Tours
Doris Duke's beach side mansion on the Kohala Coast of Oahu is well known for its collection of Islamic art and art pieces from many other parts of the world.

Washington Place Mansion Tours
The John Dominis family home became future Queen Liliokalani's home when she married into the Dominis family and it was the place where she retired and eventually died after being deposed.

Manoa Historic Walking Tours
Every two years the Malama o Manoa organizes a self-guided walking tour of historic homes in Manoa Valley neighborhoods. 2 to 3 mile self-guided walk is organized every two years. Usually runs frOm 8:30 to 10 a.m. A tour were offered in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009 and another tour is expected to be offered in 2011.

Hawaii's Plantation Village Tours
At Oahu's unique Hawaii's Plantation Village indoor/outdoor museum visitors can take guided tours of cottages furnished as they typically would be by plantation workers from many different parts of the world.
