New Year's Eve on Maui

Information about New Year's Eve events and celebrations on the island of Maui in Hawaii. If you know about any Maui New Year's Eve dinners or other events that are not included on this page, please send a message to the email address on our contacts page.

Maui Fireworks on New Year's Eve
There will definitely be fireworks at the Grand Wailea Resort in South Maui on New Year's Eve 2009. I'm still trying to confirm whether or not there will be fireworks again this year in West Maui and the East Maui town of Hana. The fire works. The Grand Wailea will also host a New Year's Eve party in their Bistro Molokini that will feature live entertainment and dinner.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel New Year's Eve Party
The Kaanapali Beach Hotel in West Maui will host several December 31, 2008 New Year's Eve events including a four course dinner at their Tiki Terrace Restaurant from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. a Kupanaha Magic Show Dinner Theater from 4:30 to 7:45 p.m., and a new Year's Eve party from 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. For reservations call 808-667-9128.

Pride of Maui New Year's Eve Cruise
Boarding time for the 2008 "Pride of Maui" catamaran New Year's Eve cruise "Pride of Maui" catamaran will be at 9:45 p.m. in Maalaea Harbor and the cruise will return at 1:15 a.m. The cruise will feature a prime rib and breast of chicken dinner with all the trimmings, live entertainment by guitarist Joe Cano and friends, and a fireworks display at midnight.

Pacific Whale Foundation New Year's Eve Cruises
Two hour New Year's Eve cocktail cruises and dinner cruises departing at 10:30 p.m. Departures are either out of Lahaina Harbor in West Maui or Maalaea Harbor in South Maui (call 800-942-5311 for more information or reservations)

Mulligan's Pub New Year's Eve Party
The New Year's Eve Extravaganza at Mulligans on the Blue will feature live music by the Celtic Tigers, an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner, a champagne toast at midnight, and views of the Wailea fireworks.

Celebrate New Year's Eve at a Maui Restaurant
Many fine dining restaurants on Maui have special dinner celebrations on New Year's Eve.

Personal Fireworks and Firecrackers in Hawaii
Firecrackers are a strong cultural tradition in Hawaii, but some islanders would like to see them outlawed because they can cause injuries and fires, scare pets, and cause air pollution that is a danger to small children, the elderly, and people with asthma. The safest way to enjoy fireworks on New Year's Eve in Hawaii is to watch one of the public aerial fireworks displays.

Maui New Year's Eve events in Previous Years

Fairmont Kea Lani - 2006 New Year's Eve Celebration
The 2006 New Year's Eve celebration at the Fairmont Kea Lani Resort in Wailea Maui will begin at 7:00 pm with an appetizer reception around one of the hotel's swimming pools, followed by a buffet dinner featuring lobster, beef tenderloin, lamb chops, fish, sushi, and tempura. There will dancing from 10:00 to 12:30 in the resort's ballroom. All beverages are included in the rate. Children are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Celebrate New Year's Eve at a Maui Hotel
Many of Maui's resorts and hotels organize special activities and celebrations on New Year's Eve, and usually you do not have to be a hotel guest to participate. Contact the activities desk of each hotel to find out what they have planned.

First Night Maui
This alcohol-free New Year's Eve street celebration goes on all day and it features multiple stages where musicians, singers, and other entertainers perform. I am trying to find more information about the December 31, 2008 Fist Night Maui.
