PGA Mercedes-Benz Championship
PGA Season Opener in Hawaii

Information and results of the PGA Mercedes-Benz Championship golf tournament. The event typically takes place the first week in January and it is the season opener for the PGA Tour. To qualify for this event golfers must have won an even on the PGA tour during the previous season. It has been played at the Kapalua Resort's Plantation Course on the island of Maui in Hawaii since 1999. It was played at the Desert Inn Golf and Country Club between 1953 and 1968 and at the Stardust Country Club in Las Vegas 1966 and 1968. It was played at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California for 30 years, betweenf 1969 and 1998, and it moved to Hawaii in 1999.
