Maui Golf Tournaments
Information about some of the most important golf tournaments on
the Maui Island in Hawaii.
Mercedes Benz Championships
This is the season opening event in the Professional
Golf Association (PGA) Tour season. Players must
have won one of the events in the previous year's
PGA Tour in order to participate. the Mercedes Benz
Championship takes place the first weekend in January.
It has been played on the Plantation Course of
the Kapalua Resort in Lahaina, Maui since 1999.
Wendy's Champions Skins Game
This annual golf tournament took place at Turtle Bay on
Oahu in 1988, in La Quinta, California in 1989
on Hawaii Island for the next 11 years, on Maui's
Wailea Gold Course 2001-2007, and at the
Kaanapali Golf Resort in 2008. It was a singles event
until 2006 when it switched to a two-person team event.
Kapalua LPGA Classic
This official Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) event
held for the first time at the Kapakua Bay Golf Course
in October of 2008.
Kapalua Clambake Pro-Am Golf Tournament
The 22nd annual Kapalua Clambake Pro-Am Golf
Tournament took place July 4-6, 2008 on the
Kapalua Bay Golf Course and the Kapalua Plantation
Golf Course. The event features a fun clambake feast
and awards ceremony.
