Airports on Maui
There are three airports on the island of Maui, the main
airport in Kahului (OGG), the Hana Airport in east Maui (HNM) and
the Kapalua Airport in West Maui (JHM).
Kahului Airport (OGG)
(Main Maui Airport)
Maui's main airport is located on the northern side
of the Isthmus of Maui, the thin strip of land that
separates East Maui and West Maui. Kahului Airport
is about 1400 acres in size and it is situated about
three miles east of Kahului Town. Facilities at Kahului
Airport include two intersecting runways and full air
carrier facilities for domestic overseas and inter-island
commercial flights. The airport also has separate
general aviation operations and helicopter operations.
Kapalua Airport (JHM)
(West Maui Airport)
At one time the Kapalua Airport was a private airport
but at some point it was acquiried by the state of Hawaii.
The airport has a single runway, terminal facilities,
and some support facilities, but no air cargo facilities.
The access road to the airport is a two-lane road off of
Honoapiilani Highway. The Kapalua Airport only serves
commercial propeller air carriers and and air taxi

HanaAirport (HNM)
(East Maui Airport)
This 119 acre airport on the east coast of Maui is located
about three miles northwest of Hana Town. Hana Airport
only has one runway which suports both the passenger terminal
and general aviation. The airport's support buildings and
facilities are located south of the runway. The access road
to Hana Airport is Alalele place. If this airport becomes
busier in the future, impvovements may include building a
taxiway next to the runway, widening the airport access road,
and expanding the passenger terminal and parking facilities.
