near West Maui's resort areas. The trails
on Ironwood Ranch go through ironwood forests,

Lahaina Stables
These stables are located between the town of
Lahaina and the Puamana Beach Park,and
they offer three horseback riding tours:
a two hour morning historic ride along the Kauaula Stream
to a lookout at 1200 feet, a 3.5 hour lunch ride
through the Kauaula Valley to the Launiopoko Valley, and

Makena Stables
This horseback riding stable on the south
coast of Maui offers a moderately challenging
2.5 hour morning tour that climbs to Kalua O Lapa,
a vent formed by a volcanic eruption many years
ago. They also offer a 2.5 to 3 our sunset ride
on the slopes of Ulupalakua Ranch. tours do not
include lunch, but they do include snacks and
