Haleakala on Horseback

Hotel Hana Maui Horseback Riding
The stables at this hotel in the remote town of Hana offer three horseback riding tours: A one hour Hana coast ride, a one hour mountain and ranch lands ride, and a two hour ride that combines both tours. Ironwood Ranch
This horse ranch in the West Maui Mountains near West Maui's resort areas. The trails on Ironwood Ranch go through ironwood forests, pineapple fields, and lush valleys, and they have panoramic views of the sea. For more information visit the Ironwood Ranch Web site or call 808-669-4991.

Lahaina Stables
These stables are located between the town of Lahaina and the Puamana Beach Park,and they offer three horseback riding tours: a two hour morning historic ride along the Kauaula Stream to a lookout at 1200 feet, a 3.5 hour lunch ride through the Kauaula Valley to the Launiopoko Valley, and a two hour sunset ride. Makena Stables
This horseback riding stable on the south coast of Maui offers a moderately challenging 2.5 hour morning tour that climbs to Kalua O Lapa, a vent formed by a volcanic eruption many years ago. They also offer a 2.5 to 3 our sunset ride on the slopes of Ulupalakua Ranch. tours do not include lunch, but they do include snacks and beverages. This family owned ranch in Wailuku on the north coast of Maui offers two hour morning and afternoon horseback riding tours with optional barbeque lunch, and a combination horseback riding and helicopter tour that includes two hours of horseback riding, a half hour helicopter tour, and a barbeque lunch.
