The 10 Largest Hotels in Hawaii
Most of the ten largest hotels in Hawaii are located
in Waikiki on the south coast of the island of Oahu, but the 4th
largest hotel in Hawaii is located on the Kohola coast of the
Big Island and the 10th largest hotel in Hawaii is in the Kaanapali Resort
area of Maui. If you want to make
new friends and socialize during your trip, large hotels are
often a good choice. Other benefits of large hotels:
they typically have more restaurants, more bars, more swimming pools,
more shops, and more organized activities then smaller hotels.

Hilton Hawaiian Village
(Oahu)
The enormous Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort on Waikiki Beach has
nearly 3000 rooms, making it the largest hotel in Hawaii by a large margin.
It is located on the far west end of Waikiki, between
the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor and Fort DeRussy Park.
The resort is split into six "villages"
or towers, making it feel smaller then the mammoth resort that it is.
The Hilton Hawaiian village has five pools, more then twenty restaurants,
several shopping areas, and its own branch of the Bishop Museum.
The hotel also has a children's program called the Rainbow Express
Keiki Club and the body treatments at the resort's Mandara Spa
include a chocolate massage for two!

Sheraton Waikiki Beach Hotel
(Oahu)
The second largest hotel in Hawaii has 1695 rooms in
two connected thirty-one story towers and one older six story building.
The hotel sits directly on Waikiki
Beach between the luxurious Halekulani and Royal
Hawaiian Hotels. The "V" shape of the main building allows half the
rooms to face the ocean. The resort has three restaurants, a fitness
center, two swimming pools, and a children's program
with on-site and off-site activities.

Waikiki Beach Marriott
(Oahu)
The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa
is located in Waikiki, across the street from Kuhio Beach.
It was named the Hawaiian Regent until management
was taken over by Marriott in 2000, and in 2002
$60 million in renovation work was done. The second floor
Spa Olakino was designed to feel like a rainforest and
there is a swimming pool in the mountain-side
Paoakalani Tower.

Hilton Waikoloa Village
(Big Island)
The Hilton Waikoloa Village is a huge resort on 62
acres on the Big island of Hawaii.
Guests go from place to place on trams, boats,
and artwork lines the walkways and waterways. Elaborate pool with waterslide
and a dolphin lagoonmake this a great place for kids,
and they also have a wonderful children's program.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki
(Oahu)
The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa is located across the street
from Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
If you like large hotels you will love this one, because
it is a huge hotel that feels huge. The resort covers
an entire city blockand the central courtyard is 40 floors high.
Attractions at the hotel include the Na Hoola Spa and Fitness
Center and a children's camp from June to August.

Ala Moana Hotel
(Oahu)
The Ala Moana Hotel has 1200 rooms and it is located
between downtown Honoluu and Waikiki,
near Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ala Moana Beach Park,
and the Hawaii Convention Center. The Ala Moana is
no longer the low cost option it once was, but it's
location makes it a popular choice for conventioneers
and visitors who love to shop. Amenities include a swimming
pool, a fitness center, four restaurants, the Rumours
Nightclub, and the Hawaiian Hut Showroom.

Princess Kaiulani Hotel
(Oahu)
Located on Kuhio Avenue, one block from the beach.
Huge swiming pool with entertainment in the evening.
Efforts have been made to make the rooms soundproof.

Pacific Beach Hotel
(Oahu)
The thirty-eight story, two-tower Pacific Beach Hotel is located directly across the street
from Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu, and it has more then 800 rooms.
The hotel's signature
attraction is its three-story, 280,000 gallon salt water aquarium
that is visible from three of the hotel's restaurants.
Other attractions include four restaurants, the Rainforest Spa,
a 24-Hour Fitness center, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and tennis courts.

Hale Koa Hotel
(Oahu)
The Hale Koa Hotel sits directly on the west end of Waikiki
beach, in the middle of sixty park-like grassy acres with picnic tables and
barbecues. The hotel has two towers and just over 800 rooms. Important Note:
the Hale Koa Hotel is an Armed Forces Recreational Center and therefore only
active and retired military personnel, and their guests, can stay there.

Hyatt Regency Maui
(Maui)
The Hyatt Regency Maui Hotel in Kaanapali on the west coast
of Maui features 40 acres of park-like grounds with
waterfalls, three swimming pool, a spa, fitness
center, tennis courts, four restaurants, four bars,
and a children's activity program.

At one time, the
Outrigger Reef on the Beach hotel
was one of the 10 largest hotels in Hawaii, but it is currently
in the process of being renovated as part of the Waikiki
Beach Walk Project. One its towers will always
be closed until the Fall of 2008, and I'm not sure
how many rooms the hotel will have when the project
is completed.
