Kauai Veteran's Day Events
Information about Veteran's Day events on Kauai Island
in Hawaii. Veterans Day is an official state holiday
in Hawaii that is observed on November 11.
Kauai's Veteran's Day events will take place the Sunday
before Veteran's Day in 2009. Events will include
the Kauai Veterans Day Parade
and a Veteran's Day Ceremony and Family Festival at
Kapaa Beach Park. See also

Kauai Veterans Day Parade
(November 7, 2009)
The 42nd Annual Kauai Veteran's Day Parade will
take place in Kapaa Town on Saturday, November 7, 2009, beginning
at about 10:00 a.m. About 60 marching bands, floats, and other marching
units are expected to participate in the parade. The
parade route will begin at the Kapaa Small Boat Harbor
and it will wind through the streets of Kapaa to
Kapaa Beach Park. The Theme of the 2009 Kauai Veteran's
Day Parade is "Honoring Korean War Veterans: A Forgotten War".
The parade's grand Marshall will be Korean war veteran and retired
Army Brigadier General Irvin Crockett with honorary grand marshal
Korean War Veteran Royce Ebesu. For more information about the

Kauai Veterans Day Ceremony and Festival
(November 7, 2009)
After the above parade there will be a Veteran's Day ceremony
and family festival in Kapaa Beach Park.
The keynote speaker at the ceremony will be
retired U.S. Army Brigadier General Irvin Cockett
and the festival will feature
JROTC drill team demonstrations, live music,
food booths, and craft sales.
Hanapepe Veterans Day Ceremony

There will be a Veteran's Day Ceremony at the
Kauai Veteran's Cemetery in Hanapepe For more

Veteran-Related Sites and Organizations on Maui
Kauai Veterans Cemetery Veteran's Day Ti Leaf Project
In 2009 local students on Kauai will honor veterans
on Veteran's Day by using more then 6000 ti leaves to make
a tea leaf lei for each of the nearly 2000 graves
at the Kauai Veteran's Cemetery.
The cemetery is located at 4331 Lele Road in Hanapepe.
