Salt Pond Beach Park
Kauai, Hawaii

Information about Salt Pond Beach Park, near Hanapepe, on the south shore of Kauai in Hawaii.

Salt Pond Beach Park on the south coast of Kauai is a 6 acre shoreline park with crescent shaped beach protected by a reef. The park has tidepools and a children's swimming area protected by rocks. The water is usually calm, making it a safe place for swimming. The best snorkeling is at each end of the beach. Attractions and facilities at Salt Pond Beach Park include a sandy beach, picnic tables, a campground, restrooms, and showers. The beach was named after the sea salt mining ponds on private property adjacent to the park. Hawaiian salt from Kauai, either plain or mixed with red clay, is available at some shops and markets on Kauai.
