Military Bases on Kauai

Articles and information about military facilities on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Includes the Pacific Missile Range Facility and a group of vacation cottages that can be rented by military personnel.

Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF)
The Pacific Missile Range Facility is located on Barking Sands Beach on the island of Kauai. The facility controls about 1100 square miles of instrumental underwater range and more then 42,000 square miles of airspace.

Barking Sands Beach Cottages
The 18 beach vacation cottages at Barking Sands can be rented by active and retired U.S. military personnel. 12 of the cottages are in oceanfront locations and six of them have ocean views. The cottages have kitchens, kitchen supplies, barbecue grills, and air conditioning in the bedrooms. The cottages are located about 10 minutes drive from Waimea Town where groceries can be purchased.
