Maunaloa is a small town in upcountry Molokai near the western end of the island. The town was established to provide housing, shops, and services for workers of the Molokai Ranch. The town is situated about a 20 minute drive west of the Molokai Airport.

Studio and 1-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes and private lanais. Located on coast of the west end of Molokai, about 7 miles northwest of Maunaloa Town, about a mile north of Papohaku Beach Park.

Blue Goose Bed and Breakfast (CLOSED)
Former bed and freakfast inn that offered accommodations in a 7 bedroom, 7 bathroom Maunaloa home built in 2008. The home sold for $162,000 in 2007 and it was listed for sale in 2017 for just under $400,000.

Molokai Ranch Closure

Many of Maunaloa's sidents worked for the Molokai Ranch, which was the largest employer on the island before it closed in 2008. When the ranch ceased operations it closed all of its operations and laid off more than 100 workers. The ranch closed because its desire and plans to built 200 upscale residential homes on 613 acres at Laau Point on on the southwestern tip of Molokai were thwarted by local opposition.
