Channels Off Lanai Island

Information about the ocean channels between Lanai Island and the other Hawaiian Islands.

Kalohi Channel
9 mile channel between the north coast of Lanai Island and the south coast of Molokai Island.
- Record of Kalohi Channel Swimmers

Auau Channel
8 to 10 mile channel between the east coast of Lanai Island and the northwest coast of Maui Island. During the winter months Pacific humpback wehales can often be seen passing through the Auau channel, partly because it is one of the most shallow of the channels separating Hawaiian Islands. The center of the Auau Channel is also known as "Lahaina Roads".

Kealaikahiki Channel
18 mile channel between the southeast coast of Lanai Island and the north coast of Kahoolawe Island.
