An introduction to the Upolu Airport (UPP) on the north side of the Big Island of Hawaii.

The Upolu Airport is a general aviation facility located on the northern-most tip of the Big Island of Hawaii near the town of Hawi. It has a single runway and two parking areas, one for the passenger terminal and one near the general aviation tie-down area. The airport does not have an air traffic control tower. Access to the airport is via a small road that connects the airport with the Akoni Poule Highway.

If traffic through the Upolu Ariportincreases in the future, the State of Hawaii might build a parallel taxi-way south of the runway, and they might move the terminal farther away from the runway to provide better clearance and additional aircraft parking.
