Honomu Town
Big Island of Hawaii

Honomu is a charming plantation town about 11 miles north of Hilo. In the 1940's Honomu was known as "little Chicago" and today it is a quaint collection of shops, art galleries, cafes, and a temple. Two popular visitor attractions near Honomu are 420 foot Akaka Falls and the black sand Kolekole Beach Park with it's 100 foot high bridge over Kolekole pass.
