Kayaking Tours on the Big Island

Information about kayaking tours and kayak tour operators on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Aloha Kayak Company
This Big Island kayaking tour founded by native Hawaiian Iwa Tolleson in 1998 offers two kayaking tours on the Kona Coast. Their afternoon tour lasts 2.5 hours and it includes paddling, snorkeling, and snacks. Their morning tour lasts four hours and it includes paddling, snorkeling, and a picnic lunch. Adventures in Paradise
Offers kayaking tours in Kealakekua Bay that include all equipment, instruction, a wetsuit, snorkeling gear, a guide, drinks, and snacks. For more information call 808-323-3005 or 888-371-6035.

Hawaii Pack and Paddle
This kayaking tour company based in the West Hawaii town of Captain Cook offers a kayaking tour that also features several other activities. The tour includes including paddling a kayak across Kealakekua Bay, touring a Kona coffee mill, hiking to the Captain Cook Monument, a picnic lunch, and snorkeling in the Kealakekua Bay Marine Life conservation District. The tour is family friendly but all participants should be comfortable swimming and hiking.

Kona Boys Kayak Shop Tours
This kayak, surf, and dive shop in Kealakekua offers a half day Kealakekua Bay Tour, a Sunset Kayak and Snorkel Tour, and overnight combination kayaking and camping trips. Their summer kayak/camping trips are usually on the north side of the Big Island and their winter kayak/camping trips are usually on the south Kona coast where the winter surf is more calm. Ocean Safari Kayak Adventures
This company based in Kailua-Kona on the west coast of the Big Island offers two kayaking tours. The water tends to be calmer during their early morning tour, which begins about 7:00 am and lasts about 2 hours. They also offer a Keauhou Sea Cave Tour that begins at Keauhou Bay and proceeds south along the cliffs toward Kuamoo Bay, where paddlers enter explore several wet and dry sea caves. The Sea Cave Tour lasts about 3.5 hours. For more information call 808-326-4699.
