An introduction to parades in Waikiki. Includes holiday parades and other special theme Waikiki parades.

Martin Luther King Day Parade
The Annual Waikiki Martin Luther King Day Parade takes place every year on Martin Luther King Day, which is an official Hawaii state holiday observed on the second or third Monday in January. The Waikiki MLK Day parade begins in Ala Moana Park, it ends in Kapiolani Park, and it can best be viewed along Kalakaua Avenue. The parade usually begins abut 9:00 am and ends about 12:00 noon. The Waikiki Martin Luther King Day Parade is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Coalition of Hawaii. The 2010 parade will be the 22nd Annual Waikiki Martin Luther King Day Parade.

Honolulu Festivals Parade in Waikiki
Annual parade down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki that is part of the Waikiki Honolulu Festival Celebration. The and paraade usually take place in March from around 4:30 to around 7:30 pm. The parade route begins on Saratoga Road and it continues down Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park. The parade is sponsored JTB Hawaii and the Honolulu Festival organizers. The 2010 parade will be the 16th Annual Waikiki Honolulu Festivals Parade.

The 2009 Waikiki Holiday Parade will take place on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Waikiki Holiday Parade is sponsored by Gateway Music Festivals and Tours.
