festivals, hula festivals, slack key guitar events,
steel guitar events, hula workshops, Hawaiian music
workshops, aloha festivals, competitions, and other
Hawaiian and Hawaii style events held every October
outside of Hawaii.
Colorado Aloha Festival
The 1st Annual Colorado Aloha Festival
took place on Sunday, October 12, 2008
at the Vance Brand Civic Auditorium
in Longmont, Colorado from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The event featured live Hawaiian music and
hula performances, free workshops, local
style food, and vendor booths. The 2nd Annual
Colorado Aloha Festival is expected to take
place in 2010.
Southern California Ukulele Festival
The 8th Annual Southern California Ukulele
Festival will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2009
and associated with that festival will be a Ukulele
Club Night on Friday, October 2, 2009 from
5:30 to 9:00 p.m.. The Saturday festival will take
place at the Cerritos Park East Community Center
in the city of Cerritos.
Wine Country Ukulele Festival
The 2nd Annual Wine Country Ukulele Festival
will take place at the Upper Valley Campus of Napa
Valley College in Northern California October 9-11, 2009.
Featured instructors and performers will include
James Hill, Ralph Shaw, Victoria Vox, Kimo Hussey,
Faith Ako, Steven Espaniola, the Dominator, Michelle
Kiba, Liko Puha, the Makai Gents, and others.
