Obama Home States Inaugural Ball

The "President Obama Home States Inaugural Ball" is one of the 10
official inauguration balls being organized by the 2009 Presidential
Inauguration Committee. Those 10 are the only inaugural balls
President Obama is almost certain of attending. The Obama Home
States Inaugural Ball will take place on inauguration day,
Tuesday, January 19, 2008, at the Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.
Some of the people involved in organizing some of the
unofficial Hawaii-related inaugural balls in Washington
DC were somewhat disappointed when this ball was announced
because they felt having an official Hawaii inaugural ball made it less likely
President Obama would be able to attend any of the unofficial
Hawaii inaugural ball. But all of the Hawaii inaugural event organizers are still
hoping he will be able to stop by, even if only briefly.
Invited guests at the Obama Home States Inaugural ball will be from President
Obama's two home states, Hawaii and Illinois. I've
seen scalpers selling tickets to this event for $1000
on Craig's List, but be warned... this
inaugural ball is for invited guests only and given the
level of security that is sure to be in place, I'm sure
no one else will get through the door.
The President Obama Home States Inaugural Ball is one of
the ten official inaugural balls sanctioned and organized by the
organizing committee for President Obama's 2009 inauguration.
