June Hawaii Events Outside Hawaii
Information about June Hawaii-related events such as ukulele
festivals, hula festivals, slack key guitar events,
steel guitar events, hula workshops, Hawaiian music
workshops, aloha festivals, competitions, and other
Hawaiian and Hawaii style events held every June
outside of Hawaii.
Portland Uke Fest
The 2009 Portland Ukulele Festival,
officially called the Portland Uke Fest,
will take place at Reed College in Portland, Oregon
June 16-21, 2009. Note that the Portland
Ukulele Festival is primarily a private camp-like event
with workshops and activities only open
to those who have registered in advance.
In addition to the ukulele camp workshops
there will be ukulele concerts on
Friday and Saturday evening that are
open to the public.
Tahoe Area Uke Fest
The 2009 Tahoe Area Uke Fest - aka
the 88 Cups Tahoe Area Ukulele Festival -
took place in Minden, Nevada on Saturday,
June 27, 2009 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The event featured lessons and workshops
and a concert feature Brittni Paiva.
Utah Aloha Festival
The 2nd Annual Utah Aloha Festival
took place on June 27, 2009 at the
Hawaiian Cultural Center in Midvale, Utah
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The
event featured live Hawaiian music and hula
performances, educational activities,
arts and crafts activities, Hawaiian quilt displays,
and vendor booths.
