George Naope Kane Hula Festival
(Hawaii Island)
Annual men-only June hula festival at the Hilo Meishoin Hall
in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Iolani Luahine Hula Festival
(Hawaii Island)
This annual all-day hula festival takes place
every January at the Outrigger
Keauhou Beach Resort in Kailua-Kona.
The festival features hula workshops teaching
Aunty Iolani Luahine's hula traditions followed
by a Hawaii Sunset Poi Supper. The Iolani
Luhine Hula Festival was founded in 2003
to perpetuate the hula and the memory
of Iolani Luahine and her contributions to
the preservation of the hula and Hawaiian Culture.
Ka Piko Hula Festival
(Molokai)
Molokai's Ka Piko Hula Festival is a celebration
of the birth of the hula and it features
hula performances, Hawaiian music performances,
and booths featuring food and handicrafts made
my Molokai residents.
The 18th Annual Ka Hula Piko Festival
will take place May 14-16,2009
at Papohaku Beach Park from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Merrie Monarch Festival

This annual spring hula competition was founded in
1964 by George Naope. The competition takes place
at the Edith Kanakaole Multipurpose Stadium in Hilo.

(Oahu)
This annual hula festival at the Polynesian Cultural
Center on the eastern Windward side of Oahu takes place
every January,
Prince Lot Hula Festival
(Oahu)
This annual hula festival held at Moanalua Gardens
in Honolulu celebrates ancient and modern hula
and chanting. The 32nd Annual Prince Lot Hula Festival
will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2009
Queen Liliuokalani Keiki Hula Competition
(Oahu)
Annual hula competition for children age 5-12
in three categories: solo, Hula Kahiko, and Hula Auana.
Takes place every July at the Neil Blaisdell Arena
in Honolulu. A project of the Kalihi-Palama Culture
and Arts Society that is support by the Hawaii State
Foundation on Culture and the Arts.
World Invitational Hula Festival
(Oahu)
Annual hula festival featuring hula halau from
many different parts of the world, including
France, Guam, India, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands,
Okinawa, Hawaii, and the mainland United States.
The 18th Annual World Invitational Hula Festival will
take place at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu
November 12-15, 2009.
