University of Hawaii Earth Day Festival

On Wednesday, April 22, 2009 there will be an Earth Day event at the University of Hawaii with an open air art and plants marketplace , technology demonstrations, and educational booths. UH Manoa John Cruz Earth Day Concert
On Wednesday April 22, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm the will be a free Earth Day concert at Andrew's Amphiteheatre on the campus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa featuring John Cruz and other entertainers. For more information see the Sustainable Saunders Earth Day Announcement.

Kokua Festival on Earth Day Weekend
Jack Johnson's Kokua Festival was held on Earth Day weekend every year between 2004 and 2008. The event took place either at the Waikiki Shell on Oahu or on the island of Maui and it sold out quickly every year because of the top entertainers who appeared. The Kokua Festival is taking a break in 2009 but the organizers are hoping to bring it back in 2010. Instead of a Kokua Festival in 2009, the Kokua Hawaii Foundation is hosting an auction that will begin on April 22, 2009 and continue through the end of May. Maui Earth Day Events

Maui Earth Day Festival
The Maui Earth Day Festival takes place every at Baldwin Beach Park in Paia. It is an all day event featuring live music, environmental and social awareness booths, and a variety of activities for children and adults. The 2009 Maui Earth Fair will take place at Baldwin Beach Park on April 19, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to Sunset.

Maui Nui Botanical Gardens Earth Day Celebration
The 7th Annual Maui Nui Botanical Gardens Earth Day Celebration and Plant Sale will take place Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will feature a plant sale, live music and other entertainment, and educational and cultural exhibits and activities. For more information call 310-249-2798.

Dennis Kamakahi Concert on Earth Day
Slack key guitar master musician Dennis Kamakahi will perform live in Concert the evening of Earth Day, April 22, 2009 at the Napili Kai Beach Resort in West Maui.

Big Island Earth Day Events

Hawaii Community College Earth Day Fair
The annual Earth Day Fair at Hawaii Community College features live entertainment and a variety of free events and activities for the general public. The 21st Annual Hawaii Community College Earth Day Fair will take place on Friday, April 24, 2009. From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon there will programs for local schools and from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. there will be free events and activities for the general public. All of the live entertainment and activities will take place on the upper grounds of Hawaii Community College from the Campus Center Plaza to the Library Lanai.

Earth Ocean Fair at Keauhou
This annual event was formerly known as the Coral Reef Awareness and Earth Day Fair and it usually takes place at the Keauhou Resort and Kahaluu Beach Park. The 9th Annual Earth and Ocean Fair at Keauhou will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 10 am to 3 pm and it is presented by the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and the University of Hawaii Sea Grant College.

Kona Earth Festival
The Kona Earth Festival is an annual event featuring a variety of activities and special events, most of which take place during the months of April and May. Kona Earth Festival events include energy fairs, tours, bike rides, fashion shows, art shows, local town celebrations, a special and many other events.

Kauai Earth Day Events

Earth Day Lydgate Park Cleanup
The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park and the YWCA of Kauai invite public to an Earth Day event at Lydgate Beach Park during which members of the community and general public will pitch in to participate in landscaping, painting, and beach clean-up activities. Refreshments will also be served. The event will take place in the morning on Saturday, April 18, 2009. For more information call the YWCA of Kauai at 808-245-5959.

Molokai Earth Day Events

Molokai Earth Day Celebration
Every year since 1995 the Nature Conservancy has sponsored the Molokai Earth Day event to share ideas for preserving Molokai's natural and cultural resources with local residents and visitors. The 2009 Molokai Earth Day Celebration will take place Friday, April 17, 2009 from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm at Mitchell Pauole Center in Kaunakakai.
