Oxbow Press Hawaii Books

A collection of Hawaii books published by Ox Bow Press in Woodbridge, Connecticut.

Armine Von Tempski Hawaii Books
In the 1980's and 1990's Oxbow Press reprinted the complete works of Armine Von Tempski. Maui writer Von Tempski is one of Hawaii's enduring literary legends. She spent her childhood years on a Haleakala ranch on the island of Maui with her Polish-American father and English mother. Her books reveal the daily life and customs on Hawaii with a colorful prose that captures the beauty of the spectacular tropics. All of these books were originally published in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's.

Mark Brown Hawaii Books
A trilogy of mystery novels set in Hawaii that were written by Mark Brown and published by the Ox Bow Press.

Peter Sl Adler Hawaii Books
Hawaii books by Peter S. Adler that were published by the Ox Bow Press include "Oxtail Soup for the Island Soul" and "Beyond Paradise: Encounters in Hawai'i Where the Tour Bus Never Runs".

Ka Iwi
AUTHOR: Albert Benedict
PUBLISHER: Ox Bow Press
NUMBER OF PAGES: 64
DIMENSIONS: 11 x 10.25 inches
PUBLISHER'S DESCRIPTION: Ka Iwi is an often-viewed, often-threatened, yet largely undiscovered stretch of natural coast on Oahu, minutes from Honolulu. Albert Benedict "sees it new" so that even longtime residents of the island, including photographers, look at his pictures and say "where is this?" In Ka Iwi, Survival of a Coast, he combines the precision of black and white photography with his unusual eye to reveal the region's spare and timeless beauty. Prose contributions by Jean King, Carol Silva, and Sue Cowing add cultural and historical context to the images in this collection.
