One person was killed and three were seriously injured in a helicopter crash yesterday on the island of Kauai. Last Thursday another helicopter crashed on Kauai, that time killing three people. Those fatal crashes happened only a month after the Federal Aviation Administration announced plans to regulate the air tour industry more strictly by expanding their National Air Tour Safety Standards and requiring helicopter tour operators to comply with them. Would I feel safe taking a helicopter tour in Hawaii? Yes, I would, but I would definitely do my homework first. Don't shop by price alone.
