Mauna Kea Tea
In Ahualoa on the slopes of Mauna Kea. Visits to this farm are part of a tour offered by the Hawaii Tourism Authority that includes two other Hamakua Coast Farms, the Long Ears Coffee Company and the Volcano Island Honey Company. $75. Begins at 8:45 a.m. eaily. 808-775-1000 for the tour. 808-775-1171 for the tea farm.

(Nine acre tea plantation on a bluff overlooking Onomea Bay, a few miles north of Hilo. Established in 2002 by Rob Longo and Rob Nunally. The first tea they planted was camellia sinesis, the type of plant used to make white, green, oolong, and black tea.)
